Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 July 2026
Meeting Copilot is a free, open-source Obsidian plugin for macOS. By installing or using it, you agree to these terms.
Provided as is, with no account and no server. Meeting Copilot has no backend, no login, and no connection back to the developer. Everything happens on your own Mac, inside your own vault, under your control.
No account, no server
Meeting Copilot has no backend. The developer does not operate any server, does not host your data, and has no account system, subscription, or license key. Nothing you do in the plugin is visible to, or recoverable by, the developer. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what data the plugin touches and where it stays.
Recording meetings is your responsibility
Meeting Copilot records audio of your meetings. Laws about recording conversations vary widely by country and, in the US, by state — some jurisdictions require all participants to consent to being recorded ("two-party" or "all-party" consent), while others require only one party (which can be you). These rules can depend on where each participant is located, not just where you are, and separate rules may apply to workplace monitoring or recording public officials.
The developer does not provide legal advice and makes no representation that using Meeting Copilot in any particular way is lawful in your situation. You are solely responsible for knowing and complying with the recording-consent, wiretapping, and privacy laws that apply to you and to every participant in a recorded meeting, including obtaining any required consent (e.g. by notifying attendees at the start of a call) before you start recording. The developer accepts no liability for your use of the recording feature.
License and source
Meeting Copilot is open-source software, released under the license in the project's LICENSE file (0BSD). You may use, copy, modify, and redistribute it under that license's terms. The source is available on GitHub.
"As is" — no warranty
The plugin is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the plugin will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any recording, transcription, or AI-generated summary will be accurate or complete.
Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- Your own data. Your calendar data, notes, recordings, and transcripts are stored only in your local Obsidian vault. You are responsible for backing them up and for the security of the device they're stored on.
- Recording consent. See "Recording meetings is your responsibility" above — compliance with recording-consent and wiretapping laws is entirely on you.
- Third-party services you configure. If you choose to connect Google Calendar, or configure a remote transcription/AI-enrichment endpoint, you are responsible for your own accounts, API keys, and compliance with those third parties' own terms. Those services are not operated by, or affiliated with, the developer.
- Google Workspace / Google Calendar data. Use of Google Calendar data obtained through the plugin must comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy and any policies of your own Google Workspace organization, if applicable.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including loss of data, notes, recordings, or profits — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the plugin, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because there is no developer server and no access to your data, the developer cannot detect, prevent, or remedy data loss on your device.
No guarantee of support or continuity
Meeting Copilot is a free, community-maintained project. The developer makes no commitment to any particular release schedule, feature roadmap, or ongoing maintenance, and may discontinue the project at any time. Because it is open source under a permissive license, you (or anyone) may continue to use, fork, and maintain it independently regardless of what the original developer does.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the plugin evolves. Material changes will appear here with an updated date. Continuing to use the plugin after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
